Our purpose
In 2020, Groupe ADP has adopted “raison d'être” (a purpose) and clearly sets out what unites the group and what the hundreds of professions that make up Groupe ADP's unique expertise contribute.
Groupe ADP, since “l’Aéroport de Paris” was founded in 1945, has accompanied the evolutions of air transportation and strived to anticipate the needs of its clients (airlines and passengers) in order.
We design, built and adapt, along with our partners, the airports of tomorrow: thought as genuine innovation hubs, they should be sustainable and elegant, functional, welcoming and safe.
We believe that, today more than ever, this innovative approach is critical to tackle tomorrow’s challenges and conciliate the expectations of our stakeholders with the urgency of social and environmental issues.
Because an airport is a complex ecosystem, our role is to harmoniously integrate the many professions and players that make it up, for the benefit of the territories where we operate and in order to guarantee the level of security, safety and fluidity expected by all. Strong of our longstanding expertise and the engagement of our thousands of co-workers, we join all our forces to bring operational excellence at the forefront of our infrastructure’s management process and create value for all our stakeholders, passengers, airlines, co-workers, suppliers, local communities, financers and authorities.
The purpose reaffirms our identity in France and internationally through common references.
It is anchored in the company's statutes and commits the group towards third parties. It reflects the reality of Groupe ADP's activity.

Groupe ADP Network
Groupe ADP manages and operates, directly or via TAV Airports and GMR Airports, more than 20 airports on all continents. It is a privileged interlocutor and strategic partner for the local and public airport authorities.
Group experts are involved on as daily basis in all areas involving airport operations in order to improve their management and operations. This includes optimizing operations, commissioning new infrastructure (terminals, runways, etc.), assisting with airport certification, developing aeronautical and non-aeronautical revenues (terminal shops and services, real estate), increasing traffic by developing new destinations (Route Development).
Several airports managed by Groupe ADP are known for the quality of service and reception offered to passengers, but also for their action in improving sustainable development.
Our major partnership
Groupe ADP's role, as an investor, is in line with a long-term shareholder structure, particularly through strategic holdings in leading airport companies: TAV Airports in Turkey, Airport International Group (AIG) in Jordan and, more recently, GMR Airports in India. These shareholdings are usually in combination with industrial partnerships or joint ventures. Groupe ADP provides to airports around the world and to the various airport authorities (both public and private) support in terms of seeking project financing, structuring investments and debt, mergers and acquisitions, etc. Groupe ADP also supports airport authorities in the upstream phases of reflection: concessioning, organisation of financial structuring, searching for industrial or financial partnerships... The international teams supervise the advice (bankers, lawyers, etc.) in charge of the financial side of the business.
2025 PIONEERS
Let’s create a new airport model together
With « 2025 Pioneers », we are building a sustainable future to aim for, whose priority projects are establishing the airport of tomorrow.
In transforming the mobility of our society, air transport has experienced exceptional growth, going from 100 million annual passengers in 1960 to 4.5 billion passengers in 2019. Today this industry is grappling with two shocks.
The first has been the Covid-19 pandemic. The return to the level of 2019 traffic will be gradual, but I’m confident in the sector’s ability to recover, as it has shown in previous crises. However, adapting to a new long-term growth rate is a major challenge and all players will have to adjust their models.
The second shock is climate change. Increasing the rate at which we reduce air travel’s environmental impact is our principal challenge: all players in the aviation industry have been mobilised with an ambitious roadmap. Certainly, commercial aviation has its place in a low-carbon world.
"These challenges invite us to maintain the spirit of aviation pioneers: to innovate and to dare, to face what is as much an industrial challenge as a shared human adventure."
Augustin de Romanet
Chairman & CEO of Groupe ADP
Groupe ADP is capable of supporting these structural changes while creating value for its customers, neighbouring areas and our airport community.
Out of the crises, the aviation industry has created opportunities that require us to reinvent more than adapt. With Groupe ADP’s 2022-2025 strategic roadmap, « 2025 Pioneers », we are building an airport model focused on performance and sustainability.
Our model stands out for its expertise, its network, and its desire to put passenger experience at the heart of its mission. This desire is enshrined in our purpose, which remains relevant for 2050, and which expresses three strong beliefs:
We are a hospitality group in the service of travellers
We’re inventing the airport of tomorrow with a seamless journey, innovative services and a unique travel experience.
We are a visionary group, reinventing the infrastructures of the future.
The vocation of airports is to become intermodal transport hubs; they will be modular, made of sustainable materials and will complement existing infrastructures.
We are a multi-local group
Connected to, and in service of, neighbouring areas and their needs, whether in terms of energy, logistics or real-estate.
These challenges invite us to maintain the spirit of aviation pioneers: to innovate and to dare, to face what is as much an industrial challenge as a shared human adventure.
With 2025 Pioneers, we are building a sustainable future to aim for, whose priority projects are establishing the airport of tomorrow.
Ethic & compliance culture
Ethics and compliance are defined as the respect for laws and regulations as well as the Groupe ADP values. This framework is in place to protect both the company and its employees. The dissemination of this culture is key to developing trust among all stakeholders.
